Tissington Well Dressings

Join is in Tissington to see the amazing floral pictures, created with thousands of flower petals pressed into damp clay.

During the well dressings, Tissington Methodist Chapel is open to visitors and provides a warm welcome.

Also, the One World Group of Ashbourne Churches Together runs a cake stall in the village to raise funds for Christian Aid from Thursday to Sunday.

Come and see the decorated wells, wander round this pretty village and enjoy some cake - what's not to like!

The Derbyshire tradition of well dressing gives thanks for God's provision of water, and many thousands of people will flock to the village to see the wells.

On Ascension Day, there is a service in Church at 11am on Thursday, followed by a ceremony of Blessing of the wells. The Clergy progress round the village and bless each well in turn.

The dressings remain in place until the following Wednesday evening, during which time very many thousands of people will have visited the village to see the spectacle.
