Update 17th May 2025

Here are some of the latest photos from work to create The Link Centre which will be Ashbourne's new community hub.

Lots of work is ongoing both inside and outside. The last week in particular has seen a lot of activity on the exterior of the building at high levels, including replacing fascias, cleaning stonework and repointing brickwork.

While we were at the top of the scaffolding, there were beautiful views of Church Street - it seemed a shame not to take some photos while we were up there!

The other photos show:

- The finials on top of the building, some of which need securing or replacing (it seems a couple of 1960s replacements were made of wood which we'll replace like-for-like)

- In Trinity Hall, the wooden wainscoting in the main worship & performance space at The Link Centre has been removed for refurbishment.

- Bird and bat boxes that have been installed on the side of the building

- Work on the foundations for the new Link foyer continuing. The picture shows the steel work and shuttering for the beams which sit on the piles being installed. These big foundations are needed both to support the new building and to keep the surrounding structures secure.

- Repair work on window frames

- Century Hall dormer windows which will be repaired

All of the work is part of Ashbourne Reborn - you can find out more about the programme at www.ashbournereborn.co.uk
