Update 16th December 2025
There have been some big changes in the last month. Cornerstone Coffee House has moved back into the Cornerstone, from its temporary home in Trinity Hall. Our volunteers removed the temporary kitchen and toilet, and our contractors have resumed working in that space.
When it opens in Spring 2026, The Link Centre will be a new hub for our community, offering brilliant spaces for community events, concerts & conferences. It will also continue to be the home of Ashbourne Methodist Church, where we will offer regular worship activities. Within the building, Gateway Lodge will provide high-quality, affordable guest accommodation in en-suite rooms.
Here’s a selection of photos from the latest site visit:
~ The new Garden Entrance, Century Hall kitchen and Gateway Lodge extension are built(temporary hoarding will be replaced by glass)
~ Stone has been laid behind Riverside Hall, the Gateway Lodge Extension and the Garden Entrance as a foundation for the new patio area. The stone is the kind gift of Longcliffe Quarries
~ In Gateway Lodge the ceilings and door frames are in place and painting is underway
~ The front window glass in the Link foyer is installed
~ The view from the foyer floor into Trinity Hall through the new entrance; the doors and balustrade will be mostly glass (ignore the yellow barriers!)
~ Looking from the top of the new stairs into the foyer and along the new gallery
~The new organ panelling is in place, and we can see the first fretwork panel – all designed to reflect the panelling on the balcony
~Cornerstone is back in Cornerstone – and looking fabulous!
All of the work is part of Ashbourne Reborn - you can find out more about the programme at www.ashbournereborn.co.uk
The Ashbourne Reborn proposals originated from businesses and community groups within the town. Ashbourne Reborn is a partnership scheme involving Ashbourne Town Team, Ashbourne Town Council and AshCom, with delivery of the Highways and Public Realm project being led by Derbyshire County Council and the Link Community Hub by Ashbourne Mthodist Church.
